Office Escape
An eSCAPE Room Mobile Game
Office Escape is an escape room mobile game. It has a low poly art style and follows the story of an employee, who has overslept and must solve a variety of puzzles and mini games in order to figure out the code to escape the building.
My Contribution
Game Design
I created a script that allowed the camera to rotate around the room so the player could search for objects and clues. I also created the scene transitions which uses a ‘black circle wipe’ for a smoother animation. I converted the controls from PC, into touch screen controls so it could be used on the phone. Finally, I designed the UI so the game would be easy to navigate as an app, and created a dialogue system to give the players an introduction and instructions on the objective of the game.
Puzzles and Mini Games
I created a simple wires puzzle, where the player has to match the correct wire to the corresponding colour, which is randomised when opened. I also created a mini game where the player controls a character and has to time throwing a ball into the hoop. I also made a drifting game where the player has to navigate their way through the city to find the finish. I allowed the player to be able to collide with anything within the level to create a manic environment.
Modelling & Animation
The game was made in a low poly art style as it was aesthetically pleasing and a better fit the mobile game demographic. Within the game I modelled and textured the CEO’s Office and the staff kitchen. I also animated all objects in Unity, to make the levels more interactable and allow the player to feel as if they were searching the room. I also model and textured the basket ball court and the drifting game. All assets were modelled in 3Ds Max.
